Stacy Havener

In 2010, Stacy Havener founded Havener Capital Partners, an independent third party marketing firm, to provide sales and marketing services to a select group of high quality managers. Well recognized for her expertise in the Registered Investment Advisor and wealth management channel, Stacy has significant experience in product development as well as raising assets through successful distribution strategies.

Previously, Stacy was a co-founder of third party marketing firm Candlewood Advisory Partners and worked with institutional marketing firm Arrow Partners. Her career in third party marketing began in 2000 when she joined Sincere & Co., LLC as the first employee. Prior to her 7 years at Sincere, she served as Marketing Manager for Grand Prix Funds (Wilton, CT). In her investment sales career, Stacy has raised over $5 billion dollars.

Active in the industry, Stacy is currently President of the Third Party Marketers Association (www.3pm.org) and is the former chairperson of the Financial Planning Association’s Corporate Resource Counsel.

Stacy holds her Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 66, and 79 licenses and is a registered representative of Compass Securities Corporation. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Western Connecticut State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1998. Stacy was named to both the NCAA and the GTE/CoSida Academic All-American team for Division III Women’s Soccer and subsequently nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year in 1998.

Based in Newport, RI, Stacy balances her career with her love of travel, passion for cooking, and an addiction to crossword puzzles.

Director of Research

Erik Gudim, CFA

Joining Havener Capital Partners as the Director of Research in 2012, Erik leads the due diligence and investment analysis of both current and prospective clients across a variety of traditional and alternative investment styles and vehicles.

Prior to joining the firm, Erik was a member of the Investment Committee for a $1B independent RIA where he led the manager research effort and assisted with asset allocation and economic research. Erik also supported the firm’s trading functions and on-going SEC compliance obligations.

In addition to his research experience, Erik has worked for various organizations in the financial services industry in the area of trade operations and compliance, including LPL Financial of Boston, Mass. and San Diego, Calif.

Erik is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute, Boston Security Analysts Society, and the Providence Society of Financial Analysts. Erik also received his Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM designation in 2008 from the College of Financial Planning. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in International Marketing and Finance, from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Penn. Erik also studied abroad at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

Besides his passion for numbers, Erik also loves great restaurants, good books and the New York Giants (he is a proud season ticket holder). He grew up in Connecticut and spent several years living in San Diego and Boston before moving to Rhode Island, the home state of his favorite idyll, Block Island.

Director of Operations

Heidi Jensen

Heidi Sondergaard Jensen joined Havener Capital Partners in May 2011 as Director of Operations. Bringing more than a decade of corporate wealth and consumer marketing experience to Havener, Heidi oversees implementation of marketing and sales initiatives for clients as well as ensures all systems, processes and personnel at Havener function with high efficiency. Heidi keeps things organized and running smoothly.

Throughout her career, Heidi has held various senior marketing and product management roles at Fleet Bank (acquired by Bank of America), designing and implementing marketing strategies and programs targeting affluent, consumer, and online segments. She also served as Associate Editor of Business Focus magazine at BankBoston and managed several CRM programs. For many years, Heidi was a key member of the core communications marketing team for several large-scale mergers, acquisitions, and consolidations.

Heidi is a graduate of Boston College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in German and Philosophy, cum laude, and a Master of Arts in Philosophy. She enjoys running, studying languages, ballet, and spending time with her family.

Angela Chuma Rein, CIMA®

Angela joined Havener Capital Partners in August 2013 as a Sales Director. In 2016, she was promoted to Vice President. She is responsible for identifying potential investors for Havener’s clients, facilitating the due diligence process, and maintaining relationships with investors.

Angela’s broad experience encompasses sales and territory management as well as investor relations, analytics and reporting. Most recently, Angela utilized her sales and marketing expertise at a start-up, boutique investment management firm which grew to over $200 million in assets during her tenure. Previously, she was a top-ranking sales associate at a variety of companies in the financial services industry, including Paychex and ING, and won several awards in recognition of her sales achievements.

Angela holds her Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a Registered Representative of Compass Securities Corporation. In addition, Angela holds the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation administered by Investment Management Consultants AssociationSM and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Shippensburg University. She resides in New York City and enjoys traveling, running, and reading. In addition to being a frequent passenger on planes, Angela also enjoys flying them… and jumping out of them. She’s part daredevil, part bookworm.

Sales Director

Dan Loughlin

Dan joined Havener Capital Partners in September 2016 as Sales Director responsible for identifying potential investors for Havener’s clients, facilitating the due diligence process, and maintaining relationships with investors.

With a diverse background in financial services including time spent as a private client advisor, Dan joins us from a boutique asset manager where he was one of the first five salespeople marketing mutual funds, ETFs and separately managed accounts to financial advisors. Managing a multi-state territory, Dan raised over $700 million and helped the firm grow from $200 million to over $3B in assets.

Dan holds his Series 7, 6, and 63 licenses and is a registered representative of Compass Securities Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fairfield University. Residing on the coast of New Jersey, Dan embodies the spirit of fun on land, air or sea: you might find him walking his rescue pups Hooch & Roo, globetrotting with his wife, or kayaking in the ocean.

Sales Development Manager

Theo Bakolas, CIMA®

Theofanis Bakolas joined Havener Capital Partners in May 2012. Theo leads the team of Sales Development Associates who are responsible for identifying potential investors for Havener’s clients, conducting interviews and research, understanding investors’ asset allocation plans, and presenting Havener’s clients as potential investment options.

Prior to joining Havener, Theo worked for a research firm that provides market intelligence on global institutional investors to hedge funds, funds of funds, venture capital, real estate and private equity funds. His role there was to develop relationships with global family offices, RIAs and institutional investors to determine their current investment searches and appetite towards alternative funds.

Theo holds his Series 7 and 63 licenses, received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Salem State College and is a registered representative of Compass Securities Corporation. In addition, Theo holds the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation administered by Investment Management Consultants AssociationSM and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He lives in the Boston metro area and enjoys traveling. Theo also loves fishing, and during the summer, he can be found in Cape Cod almost every weekend casting for striped bass.

Director of Marketing

Paige Blankenship

Paige joined Havener Capital Partners as Creative Director in September 2013 and was promoted to Director of Marketing in 2016. She is responsible for overseeing creative, branding and marketing efforts for Havener’s clients as well as the firm. Paige makes fact sheets look stylish, combines flair with content on websites, and gives visual representation to the things that make a firm unique.

Prior to joining Havener, Paige founded Orange Crush Project Marketing, a boutique firm that served as an extension of clients’ marketing teams with respect to digital, social and traditional marketing. Before Orange Crush, Paige held leadership roles for over a decade in sports marketing. She worked for various professional sports teams and universities including: Atlanta Dream (WNBA), San Diego Padres (MLB), San Diego Spirit (WUSA), University of California-Berkeley, San Diego State University, and Weber State University.

Paige has a Master’s Degree in Marketing from San Diego State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Science from Weber State University where she was a member of the Women’s Soccer Team.

She currently resides in Atlanta with her husband, 3 young children and 2 dogs. Paige has boundless energy and can usually be found running … running after her kids or dogs, running around a soccer field on the weekends, or running peacefully through the neighborhoods of Atlanta. In her spare time (which is rare) she sometimes stops running and sits down – usually to enjoy a magazine or a coffee with friends.

Operations Manager

Laura Lewis

Laura joined Havener Capital Partners in January 2015 as an intern in Data Intelligence and joined the team full-time as a Data Intelligence Analyst in May 2015. In June 2016, she was promoted to Operations Manager.  She is responsible for translating data and statistics to actionable improvements in sales and marketing processes. Analyzing structured and unstructured data sourced from both external and internal sources including sales opportunities, marketing campaigns and market research, Laura helps the firm increase efficiencies on behalf of our clients.

With an extensive background working in intelligence supporting cases of national security for the Department of Homeland Security, Laura has a fine-tuned ability to read behavioral inputs while identifying and organizing predictive drivers for success. Laura’s complex thinking, research and translation skills add a scientific element to the art of closing deals.

In addition to her technology and analytical skills, Laura is also fluent in Spanish… and inbound marketing. She is Hubspot Inbound Certified. Laura resides in Newport and when she isn’t architecting data schematics or analyzing deals, she is probably building furniture from scratch, devouring books in one sitting, or teaching herself coding skills. You know, little things y’all do in your spare time.

Graphic Designer

Alicia Purden

Alicia Purden joined Havener in January 2016 as Graphic Designer on our Marketing team. She is responsible for the design and execution of all marketing materials, delivering customized creative and marketing solutions for our clients and house brand.

Previously, Alicia worked for the Preservation Society of Newport County and the Newport Mansions Stores, where she designed marketing collateral and e-commerce graphics for their retail stores and website. Experienced in both print and digital design, Alicia’s work focuses on the importance of brand identity and sharp, direct design that tell a powerful (and beautiful) story. She is an award-winning graduate of Salve Regina University, where she studied Art and Art History with a concentration in Graphic Design.

Alicia is a Newporter by way of a New Jersey suburb of Philadelphia. She loves all forms of art and design as well as the creative challenge of combining form and function. When she isn’t designing, Alicia can be found practicing yoga, enjoying good food, or soaking up useless trivia in the hopes of one day becoming a Jeopardy! champion.

Havener provides outsourced sales and marketing services to high quality investment management firms seeking to expand their assets under management within the institutional marketing arena, including intermediaries, RIAs, consultants, platforms, wealth advisors and family offices.

Position Description:

You are passionate about investing. The posters on your walls are of portfolio managers and economists; you wonder when they will have jerseys you can buy as their biggest fan… When you think about an investment strategy, you instantly consider how it can solve problems for clients/advisors and how you can illustrate potential solutions with the tools in your arsenal. Numbers and words are both poetic in your world, and you believe a powerful commentary, well-written blog, or thoughtful analytics report can move mountains – or investors. You are our Research Analyst, reporting to the Director of Research, and you slay.

On any given day, you might be dominating one (or more) of the follow responsibilities:

  • Supporting senior team in investment due diligence and research of prospective and current clients
  • Generating and maintaining analytics reports, spreadsheets and profiles on managers
  • Analyzing / comparing client strategies with competitors using quantitative and qualitative expertise
  • Generating data for marketing materials monthly/quarterly and reviewing for quality control
  • Effectively communicating investment research / ideas for use in marketing and sales initiatives
  • Creating or assisting with original content such as blogs, articles, whitepapers, to support thought-leadership and lead generation efforts on behalf of clients
  • Managing the end-to-end content development process from ideation and research to copywriting, editing, and revisions to quality assurance and final production
  • Collaborating closely with marketing to create original content, repurpose existing content, and provide miscellaneous copywriting, editing, and proofreading on other content as needed
  • Assessing and editing existing content as necessary for brand and message consistency and clarity and offer informed recommendations on how to improve it so that it resonates with clients
  • In conjunction with operations, developing, maintaining, and managing an editorial calendar that will be a single source of truth on content assets being built, their timing for distribution, and the channels in which they will appear

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate has a background in investment research in financial services for an RIA or wealth management firm. Desired qualifications/characteristics include:

  • 3+ years of experience as an investment analyst in financial services
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance related field
  • Solid analytical skills and experience reporting (verbally and visually) diverse data sets and results
  • Keen eye for quality control and proof-reading; ability to recognize data and grammar errors
  • Willingness to dive into data to create unique, actionable analysis for our clients
  • Advanced investment certification desired (CFA, CIMA, CAIA, etc.)
  • High proficiency in performance-based analytics software such as Morningstar Direct or Zephyr
  • Ability to create meaningful data visualization charts in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written skills; role requires high caliber, concise writing
  • Self-confidence while communicating and presenting to peers and clients
  • Strong attention to detail; so much so that you’ll include #wearehcp in the last line of your resume when you apply
